Disorder all have commonalities yet are different enough to be able to distinguish between the three. To compare these disorders, all three of them consist of the inability to successfully connect with and understand others emotions. People with these disorders tend to focus on themselves and make decisions based on their own good and benefits.
Rarely do people with these disorders take others Into consideration making it difficult to build and maintain relationships.Another commonality that these three disorders have Is the lack of remorse for others In situations where they may have caused others pain. These disorders carry a type of personality where one thinks, “they are always right” or “entitled” to certain things. It Is common of someone who has one of these types of personality disorders to understand the difference between right and wrong and deep down understand that their actions may not be acceptable but overall, not care. These three disorders cause people to be aggressive and at times, reckless. Ten Irresponsible, their decisions are usually not well thought out resulting in impulsive behaviors. As a result of their impulsive behaviors, all three disorders tend to cause a problem when trying to build or form relationships with others.
Relationships tend to be unstable and inconsistent making it difficult to really connect with a person emotionally. The cause of all three disorders seems to have some commonalities where a person’s upbringing has a lot to do with their personality disorder.Growing up in an notionally cold or unsupported household has been shown to cause these types of disorders while in other cases they can be inherited genetically but mainly only Antisocial and Borderline Personality disorders. Although these personality disorders have many common traits, they are in fact distinctly different. Borderline Personality disorder is the only disorder out of the three in which the person carries out self- damaging behaviors and sometimes, suicidal thoughts or gestures.
Cutting, eating disorders and substance abuse are among a few self- damaging behaviors one may experience. Those with BAD are not predictable and can often experience abrupt and drastic mood swings towards others. While those with BAD are often unpredictable, people who suffer from antisocial personality disorder tend to be mostly calm, charming and manipulative. They have their emotions under control and portray themselves in a specific and thought out way. I would describe a person suffering from Antisocial Personality Disorder as having little to no emotions where someone with BAD having an overabundance of emotion.
On the other hand, I think hat Narcissistic Personality Disorder Is the disorder that differs most out of the three. Although containing some commonalities, those with Narcissistic Personality Disorder have an extreme need for attention and find themselves the most Important over anyone and anything. These people need to be the best and most successful and will use anybody In order to get there. Those with an antisocial personality disorder have a hard time connecting with people and tend to not want to be the center of attention.
Someone with a Narcissistic personality disorder feels that they gust be the center of everyone’s attention and have a sense of entitlement over usually speaking fast and not always thinking about what they are saying and whom they are saying it to. This differs from people with antisocial personalities because they are sure to portray themselves in a way in which they can easily manipulate somebody. Comparing this too person with borderline personality disorder, their personality tends to be very unpredictable and can change at any point and time- these are major differences between the three personalities.
