Superintendent Sorrel, administrators, teachers, parents, guardians, families, and friends; I would like to begin by telling you how much of an honor it truly is to have the opportunity to stand before you all today on behalf of such an overwhelmingly successful and extraordinary collection of individuals. That’s right, despite the fact that all one-hundred and something of us are wearing the exact same thing, we are Individuals.

That is what makes us extraordinary! We as a class don’t fall Into the classic high school click©s and groups, we don’t conform to social norms.We act as our own and it is due to this that there has never been a more accepting and cohesive group of students to pass down these halls. I can honestly say that each person on this stage has personally affected my time here In Carver In some way, and I’m willing to bet that Is true for many of my classmates as well. As this past week rolled by, filled with senior cutlasses I couldn’t help but realize Just how lucky I really have been over the past four years. Lucky to have shared my time, experiences, and to have made memories with such Interesting people.Then on Friday my luck ran out cause I still needed to write this speech. So like anyone in my position would’ve done I asked Google what she thought I should write my graduation speech about. Now she told me that to give a good graduation speech I needed to say that as a class we are going to be doctors and scientists and lawyers but I don’t want to get anyone’s’ hopes up.

What truly matters, and what Google didn’t tell me, is the fact that the people in this class are going to make a difference in today’s world and the world of tomorrow. Scott Struck for president 2040!Now when I went to bed this past Friday night I had a Dream! This has been a reoccurring dream that I’ve had ever since I was a little boy. The dream was of today, walking across this stage for graduation. So far, today is somewhat similar to this dream but with a few key differences.

One, luckily I have more than Just my underwear on today. Two, as far as I know I’m not Arnold Swaggerer which is kind of a letdown but I figured it couldn’t happen anyhow. Mainly though, and in all seriousness, I could never have dreamt of sharing this stage with the people that are here today.

No ultimate fantasy could’ve given me a more bright and unbelievable class to have sitting behind me right now. Just as the rap artist Drake said, minus one choice word, “we made it. ” Now it’s our time to go out Into the “real world”, because apparently the past eighteen years of our lives have been figments of our imaginations. Once we get out there though I know that each of us will succeed in whatever it is we choose to do. I am certain that this class Is going to make a difference in the lives of many others. I love all of you, students, teachers, administrators for making these past four years the best four years of my life.On behalf of myself and the entire Carver Middle High School class of 2014 1 want to say room the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of the people In the audience for being there to support all of us and help us make our way onto the stage today.
