“The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life.” This quote comes from one of the greatest philosophers of all time, Plato. Plato played what is perhaps one of the most essential roles in the foundation of education and the school system, having founded the Academy, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world.
This information only makes it natural to link Plato’s quote to the act of furthering an education. The quotation in a basic summary refers to the idea that beginnings are significant, and the concept that you are only going to be as successful as you want to be. If you choose to have a lazy beginning with a poor education, chances are that you will wind up having a not very prosperous life. However, if you choose the path of working hard in the beginning with a good education, there is a high probability that you will end up with a successful future.
Whatever type of education we choose to have, it will lead us to become just that, which gives it the ability to guide us on the right path. It is for this reason that I placed Elizabeth High School as my first choice for high schools to attend from Terence C Reilly. Elizabeth High School, also known to many as the Lower Academy, is ranked 176 nationally, ranked second in the state of New Jersey, and is the top high school for the Elizabeth Public Schools district. These statistics are what make it clear to see that this high school is one of the best choices to assist me in the future. This high school provides students with the chance to take AP classes, a factor that will allow me the ability to further prepare for college level material, giving me an advantage in the applicant groups for colleges and/or universities.
