I attended STEM Fair which was extremely new to me that I have never done before. In STEM Fair, I found out the variety of careers that are offered by a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Especially, this STEM fair was sponsored by Women in STEM and the RST Academy which make me respect the ladies more and more because in my country, most of the men pursue their Science careers. This event was about many careers such as: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Hour of Code, Engineering, Physics and Math. There were students, who are sophomores, seniors, available to help everyone with any problems in each department.
I’m interested in Biology because Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy. Biology is about our surrounding environment divided into different levels of biological organization like biosphere, communities, populations, ecosystems and organism. Below of organisms are organs and organ systems, tissues, molecules, organelles, and cells. At Chemistry department, I saw a block of dry ice having a very nice feature of sublimation. As it breaks down, it turns directly into carbon dioxide gas rather than a liquid.
Dry ice has super-cold temperature of -109.3 degrees Fahrenheit which makes it great for refrigeration. There was also an experiment that they put the coins on the dry ice and the temperature was so cold that these coins continuously vibrated. I suddenly apply this to packaging to ship in far distance.
If you want to send something frozen across the country, you can pack it in dry ice. It will be frozen when it reaches is destination without messy liquid left over like you would have with normal ice. I also dropped by computer science counter. I had a chance to talk to students who have the same major as mine. They showed me how to take computer science classes.
There were als…
