When you are active it can improve your health in many ways. It can give us instant and long-term health benefits, it lowers the risk of several diseases, for example diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Regular activity can also improve your quality of life. At least 30 minutes of exercise can help make improvements to your life.
The more active you are the more likely you are to be happier in general. Physical activity can help relieve stress, tension and helps with anxiety. The four fitness components are: Cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility. Cardiovascular endurance is being able to do things such as running, swimming for long periods of time. Your heart and lungs work effectively. Muscular endurance is when you’re able to use your muscles for a long period of times such as when lifting weights or doing squats. Muscular strengths are when your muscles can lift heavy amounts of weights. Flexibility is when your joints can move in a full range of motions such as doing yoga.
SMART stands for specific, measurable, agreed upon, realistic, time based. This means you base your workouts on specific workouts for each day that you know you’ll be able to reach your goals in a certain amount time that’s realistic. FIIT goals stands for frequency, intensity, time, and type. The Overload Principle means that to improve, you need to keep working harder as your body adjusts to its workouts. Overloading also plays a role in skill learning.
For example, if you play soccer you would need to keep working to your body to adjust to the sport. One way you can measure intensity is by your heart rate, for example if you are doing a high intensity work out your pulse will be higher, and breathing will be heavier compared to if you perform a low intensity workout. With a low intensity work out your pulse will not be as high, and breathing will be close to normal
